OMV Serbia donates EUR 10,000 to support combat against Covid-19 epidemic

OMV Serbia donates funds to the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Serums "Torlak" and Community Health centre Vozdovac. Having in mind current epidemiology situation OMV Serbia has joined to a general support with a donation in equivalent of EUR 10,000.
These funds will contribute to the day-to-day functioning of both organizations. That in case of the Torlak Institute include the production of vaccines in accordance with modern technology and the highest standards, as well as to ensure the smooth implementation of the activities of national reference laboratories.
After the outbreak of the epidemic, OMV Serbia established cooperation with the Beograd City Emergency Headquarters and within it the City Secretariat for Health Care. During the State of Emergency, one of the primary tasks of these two institutions is to coordinate the work of all vital services for the functioning of the city. After meeting with the representatives of the city Emergency HQ, it was agreed that the amount of EUR 5,000 will be donated to the Vozdovac Health Center as well, for the purpose of procuring the funds necessary for work in this situation.
"In the current difficult situation, we believe solidarity is the right answer in order to cope with the coronavirus pandemic”. By this donation, we hope to contribute to the efforts that are being made every day to combat this epidemic," says General Manager of OMV Serbia Narcis Popescu.
The Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Serums “Torlak” is a national manufacturer of vaccines and serums, immunobiological and diagnostic preparations and agents, which supplies health institutions in the Republic of Serbia. The Institute also monitors, studies, tests, establishes, introduces, conducts professional and scientific methods of prevention and diagnostics of infectious diseases, and participates in establishing and implementing instructions in the field of prevention and diagnostics of infectious diseases.
Vozdovac municipality is the fourth largest in City of Belgrade. In addition to the central facility, the network of the Health Center "Vozdovac" consists of 17 independent branches, health stations and dispensaries, eight dental dispensaries in primary and secondary schools and one occupational health dispensary.
